Walks in Glen Nevis and the surrounding area

Mountain Routes:

Ben Nevis. At 1344m, it is the highest mountain in the UK and a serious hill walk. A good level of fitness, stout footwear, warm waterproof clothing, and a calm navigational brain for when the cloud comes in are all required by those wishing to ascend. Ben Nevis Safety Leaflet (Summer Only) The rewards, on a good day, are great though. It is possible to see as far as 80 miles from the summit in clear weather. The main route can be joined immediately outside the hostel. Whilst the more experienced may wish to tackle the spectacular Carn Mor Dearg Arete.

Ben Nevis receives around 200, 000 walkers every year, so it can get rather crowded! Those looking for a more peaceful excursion will find plenty on offer amongst other peaks surrounding the glen. The Aonachs, the Grey Corries and The Mamores offer a variety of stunning routes.
